"Miss
Anne" Shadbolt graduated from the University of Illinois in Champaign where
she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Speech, Radio and Television. She
also attended the University of Missouri in St. Louis for post-graduate
studies in Radio and Television.
KSD Radio/KSD-TV
(St. Louis' NBC affiliate) provided her first on-air talent job in commercials
on "St. Louis Hop", as well as experience in all areas of production. |

Relocating
to Colorado, Anne was a fashion model/commentator, free lance model, radio
talk show moderator and Adult Ed teacher for several years before taking
the job of Romper Room teacher on WKEF-TV in Dayton Ohio. |

Anne
returned to St. Louis for about a year... before accepting an offer from
WDCA-TV 20 to be their first
Romper Room teacher in the summer of 1967. |

In
addition to her teacher's duties, the pretty, blue-eyed Anne was drafted

Miss
Anne did her share of personal appearances at DC area malls in support
of the program. As these photos show, her "do-bees" sure loved to meet
her.

Anne
also helped raise public awareness of worthy causes, as evidenced by her
participation in the 1969 WDCA-TV Children's Hospital Telethon (below).

Chick-Chick Here & A Chick-Chick There..." Miss Anne and her students

Anne
Shadbolt (along with her familiy) moved from the DC area in 1977 to a major
city in the southwest United States where she's lived ever since... and
where she has a successful marketing company. She says that her memories
of Washington DC and Channel-20's Romper Room are among her fondest.. |
